About the Organisation
The St. Lucia Football Association was established as a non profit making organisation and the governing body for football in St. Lucia.
The SLFA was established to enhance and improve the standard of Football in St. Lucia. The principal objectives of the Association are:
- To constantly improve the game of football and to promote, regulate and control it throughout the State in the light of fair play and its unifying, educational, cultural and humanitarian values, particularly through Youth and Development programmes;
- To organize competitions in Association Football in all its forms at the national level, by defining precisely, as required, the areas of Association conceded to the various Clubs and Provisional members of which it is composed;
- To protect the interest of its Members;
- To respect and prevent any infringement of the constitution, regulations, directives and decisions of FIFA , CONCACAF, CFU and SLFA as well as the Laws of the Game and to ensure that these are also respected by its Members;
- To prevent all methods or practices which might jeopardize the integrity of matches or competitions or give rise to abuse of Association Football;
- To control and supervise all SLFA sanctioned football matches of all forms played throughout the State;
- To manage international sporting relations connected with Association Football in all its forms;
- To host and organize competitions at regional and international levels;
- To unite all Members, Representative Members and Administrators, of football in Saint Lucia, regardless of sex, age, religion, or political affiliation into a common Association;
- To regulate, control, and discipline the conduct of football in Saint Lucia, to draw up regulations and provisions and ensure their enforcement;
- To stimulate and develop a greater sense of public awareness, discipline, national pride, and public awareness of an interest in football among Saint Lucians;
- To administer courses for the training of Members of the SLFA;
- To abide by, and to observe the provisions of FIFA regulations;
- To raise funds by legitimate means for the purpose of the development of SLFA programmes.
- To do any and all other such things that are conducive, beneficial, with any other, as may be deemed necessary for the good and welfare of the development of Football.
